The Most Beautiful and the Best Children´s Books of the Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter in Slovakia
Competition for the most beautiful children’s books was established in 1990 with an aim to promote the children’s and juvenile books of high artistic value. In 1991 the competition had broaden out and incorporated the literary competition for the best children’s books. The event is organized by BIBIANA and the Slovak Section of IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People). For more about the competition, click more.
The literary jury views the submitted books for children and youth and selects the Best Children’s Book published in Slovakia in course of the last season. This award goes to both the author of text (writer, compiler, translator) and the publisher. Similarly, the art jury selects the Most Beautiful Children’s Book of the season; the award is given to both the illustrator and the publisher.
