Geza M. Toth is a Hungarian creator, scriptwriter, director, producer of animated films and film
lecturer. As a young man he started from the master of world animation John Halas. Today, he
himself is a tutor with long-year experience and he has also become the chancellor at the University
of Theatre and Film Arts in Budapest. He is well known in the world, especially as a director
of animated films, but he has devoted his work also to the theatre, history of opera, illustrating of
books, lecturing, scriptwriting and leading of an animation studio as well as a university. Since he
established the Animation Studio KEDD in 2002, he has continuously produced and directed TV
series for children there.
Geza M. Toth is an universal artist with a wide creative spectrum. The connecting element of his work is his curiosity, ardour for something unknown and unexpected punch line and he feels a deep connection with a child, its imagination and playfulness. In KEDD studio he has created the 80-episode series Modern Fairy Tales (2008) and also the compiled fairy tales based on the popular book for children Ria and Ralf (Bogyó és Babóca, 2010 – 2014). Already three series of them have been produced and they have become the most popular film of the year. Geza M. Toth is not afraid of new ideas and challenges. His portfolio is built up of films made by traditional animation, 3D animation, stop motion animation, VFX and also vector curves. He comprehends theatre, opera, music educational film and movie.
