  • Biography:

    Hisko Hulsing was born in 1971 in Amsterdam, Holland (Netherlands). Hisko Hulsing majored in painting and animation at the art academy of Rotterdam in 1995. His films Seventeen and Junkyard were invited to numerous festivals and won many awards, including the Grand Prize at the Ottawa International Animation Festival and the Audience Award at the Stuttgart Festival of Animated Film.

  • Outlines of work:

    Hisko Hulsing devotes in his work mainly to a technique of oil on canvas. Nevertheless, he uses many other means at creating the animations as well. As an example, creation of the series Undone for Amazon Prime Video was based on the projection mapping what has defined an overall visual of the project. Besides writing, directing, painting and animating for his animated films, Hulsing composes the orchestral soundtracks for his own films. He has participated as a director and animator in many collective projects.

    In 2012 Hisko Hulsing was invited by Disney Studio’s and Dreamworks to present his film Junkyard to the artists. He also created a sequence A Dream of a Thousand Cats for the series The Sandman. Hulsing made illustrations and storyboards for numerous advertising and production companies such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Wieden + Kennedy, 180, Czar, Caviar, DDB, TBWA, FHV, among his clients were leading companies like Pepsi, Honda, Mitsubishi, Heineken, Nivea, Schiphol, Carlsberg, Liga, Canon.
