  • Biography:

    Eva Gubčová graduated from the Department of TV and Broadcast Journalism at the Philosophical Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava. She worked as a film editor at the News Film Company, later at the Short Film Company in Bratislava.

    She has cooperated on numerous short and animated films. Many of them were awarded at festivals both at home and abroad, like Jedináčik (Only Child), Kikirikí (Cock-a-doodle-doo), Ako sa Jožinko prestal báť (How Joe Stopped Fear). As an editor she has contributed to various successful bedtime stories such as Najmenší hrdinovia (The Smallest Heroes), Dana a Dodo (Dana and Dodo), Dvaja na cestách (Two on Travels), Kuk a Bubu (Cockoo and Fee-faw-fum), Remeselnícke rozprávky (Artisan Tales). Eva Gubčová is a member of the Film and TV Academy, Slovak Film Union as well as the Association of Animation Film Creators in Slovakia (ATAFS). Since 1995 she has lectured at the Film and Television Faculty, The Academy of the Performing Arts in Bratislava, first as a teacher, in 2008 she was appointed the head of the Animation Department.
