International Symposium BIB 2003

Phenomenon of Post-Modernism in Contemporary Illustration for Children

Post-modernism is a cultural state and mood during the end of the 20th century. In illustrations, new features and suggestions were visible, too. The purpose of this event was to point out the typical and characteristic expressions, which are artistically contributing to contemporary production for children. Illustration naturally searches for new forms, ways and expressions of an adequate visualisation of texts for children through the visual creation. The goal of the symposium was to find the current form of illustration and contemporary visual expression, where there is ample room for change and daring experiments.
